This momentous release from Barrell Craft Spirits sees its lauded Seagrass finish applied to 20-year-old Canadian rye whiskey in what can only be described as the pinnacle of the Seagrass series. Distilled in Canada, aged in Canada and the US, and finally blended & bottled by Barrell Craft Spirits in Kentucky, each finishing cask imparts a unique and distinct profile indictive of its origin—from the grassy vibrancy of the Martinique rhum casks to the rich, oxidative stone fruit bass tones of the apricot brandy casks, to the vivacious acidity of the Malmsey Madeira casks. A classic Canadian rye nose of white flowers, toasted grains, and honey meets tropical aromas of roasted pineapple and sugarcane grassiness. On the palate, Meyer lemon and clover honey precede fresh basil and ripe pineapple, accented by hits of cracked black pepper and Madeira acidity which recedes into a recognizably rye finish of pink peppercorn, rosemary, leather, and nutmeg. This incredible rye demands to be contemplated and cherished. Non-chill filtered; bottled at a cask strength of 64.04% ABV.
